The fabric of my slacks clung to my legs because half of it was soaked from the heavy downpour. It doesn't help that it was literally raining under my umbrella since it was too wet to repel any more rain while waiting for the bus ride home.. Since the weather was the same way last night before I left for work, I decided to wear my Happy Feet sandals thinking they'd be tough enough for heavy rains and probable semi-baha and I was right. Except that my feet and calf muscles hurt from controlling the way I walked lest I slipped and fell on my butt or facedown..
Commuter experience in this kind of downpour (tantamount to storm signal 2-3 and there's no suspension of work because that NEVER happens) becomes more than a challenge. You also have to strategize how you can hop on the next bus, fold your umbrella in the process of jumping on the actual semi-moving bus, squeeze your way to the SRO(standing room only) space just so you can get home, get loose change from your bag while holding your wet umbrella, protect other commuters from having your wet things smack them in the face by keeping your distance (in an SRO area this is virtually impossible) and keeping your balance as the traffic moves along.
"Sinong may kotse? Pasabay!" This is the last thing I heard before leaving the office today. That was Agatha.
